Magnificent Frigatebird |
Here are 2 photos taken on Saturday, July 6th 2002, from the jetty/dike between Quintana and Surfside Beaches, near Freeport/Lake Jackson. There were 12 frigatebirds in total, which were harassing the other seabirds, whilst following a small drilling rig being towed out to sea. The digital camera (Olympus C-700 UZ) was set on full 10x optical zoom and then the photos were edited and cropped with Adobe Photoshop. |
An all white head indicates a juvenile bird. Was not able to spot a male with the red throat pouch. |
